“This event provides an excellent opportunity to honor women one by one. The honorees were described as being willing to ‘do whatever needs to be done’ and ‘giving kindness without expectation of reward’. A common thread was that these women serve as role models and anchors to Judaism.”

Song of Miriam Awards Brunch
This event has been held on the first Sunday in June since 1993. It brings together the Jewish community to recognize outstanding, dedicated women volunteers for their vital role in Jewish life.
Honorees are nominated by Jewish organizations and congregations in Oregon and southwest Washington. The women are recognized for their individual efforts and achievements in their volunteer activities, and their dedication to Jewish life and values.
The kosher brunch is attended by approximately 300 people. During the awards ceremony, each honoree is presented to the group and a short description of their accomplishments is read.
Over the 19 years the event has been held, more than 300 women have been honored. See our Past Honorees...
